Connecticut AHEC continuing education programs are provided in collaboration with a wide variety of internal and external partners. Between July 1, 2016 and June 30, 2017, the AHEC Program sponsored or co-sponsored over 33 continuing education offerings totaling 165 sessions with a total of 1,330 participants attending. Health Careers Recruitment
Recruiting under-represented minority students into the health careers is the single largest activity of the Connecticut AHEC Network. Between July 1, 2016 and June 30, 2017, 6,375 students in grades K-16 participated in an AHEC sponsored program, including 909 students who took part in over 40 hours of programming.
Between July 1, 2016 and June 30, 2017, the Connecticut AHEC Network supported 353 health professions students in interprofessional clinical rotations in primarily underserved communities.
