Kun Chen, PhD is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Statistics and is a Research Fellow in the Institute of Public Health Research at the University of Connecticut. He joined UConn in Fall 2013 after working as an Assistant Professor at Kansas State University for two years. Dr. Chen earned his Ph.D. in statistics from the University of Iowa in 2011, a M.S. in statistics from the University of Alaska, Fairbanks in 2007, and a B.Econ degree in Finance and a dual BS degree in Computer Science from the University of Science and Technology of China in 2003.
Dr. Chen's methodological research interests include dimension reduction, variable selection, multivariate analysis, statistical computing and optimization, statistical ecology, environmental statistics, bioinformatics, and public health applications.
