Sue Coleman joined the University of Connecticut in 2004 and is currently an Administrative Program Coordinator for Husky Programs at the Center for Public Health and Health Policy. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Central Connecticut State University.
She has served as Husky Reads program Coordinator, an early childhood literacy based program, since 2007. Sue’s expertise in prioritizing and multi-tasking allows her to successfully manage over 75 student educators annually. She plays an integral role in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the literacy based health and nutrition program for preschoolers. In addition to providing value in the community, Sue is intent on mentoring each student educator to ensure that their experience with service- learning enhances their academic careers and personal growth.
While raising her family, Sue was a licensed childcare provider for 15 years and developed children’s programming for her local library. Her love for books and reading is a perfect complement to her promotion of literacy in children and people of all ages.
